How Much Does 3D Website Development Cost in India?
3D website development in India costs between ₹2.5 lakh and ₹30 lakh at Merse Studio, plus 18% GST. Where your project lands depends on three things: how many 3D scenes you need, whether 3D models already exist, and how much lead infrastructure sits underneath the site.

A 3D website isn't a set of pages. It's software that has to sell a building on a buyer's phone, and the price follows how much of that job it does.
These are our own price bands, not an industry average. Other studios will quote differently. This guide shows what the money pays for, where quotes hide costs, and how to get an accurate number for your project.
What is a 3D website?
A 3D website renders three-dimensional scenes live in the browser. Visitors can move around a building, pick a floor, or watch the camera glide through a space as they scroll. For real estate, it lets buyers experience a project before it's built or before they visit the site.
It's a different product from a website with a walkthrough video or an embedded virtual tour, and that difference explains most of the price gap. Our guide to what an immersive 3D website is covers the types in detail.
3D website cost in India: the three price bands
Every Merse 3D website falls into one of three tiers. The tier is set by how much 3D the site carries and how much of your sales process it runs.
| Project type | What you get | Timeline, from asset delivery | Price (India, excl. GST) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch Microsite | One cinematic 3D or scroll-driven experience, lead capture to WhatsApp and a CRM, SEO and social sharing set up, a lightweight CMS | 3–4 weeks | ₹2.5–4 lakh |
| Signature Experience | A full immersive website with around two 3D scene treatments, one lead inbox, a standard dashboard, full CMS and CRM | 6–8 weeks | ₹7.5–12 lakh |
| Flagship Platform | Multiple 3D scenes, marketing and sales dashboards, lead routing, and an operations platform your team runs daily | Scoped per project | ₹15–30 lakh |
Which tier fits your project?
- Launch Microsite: one project launch that needs a single memorable moment and a clean way to capture enquiries.
- Signature Experience: a developer who wants the whole site to feel premium, not just the homepage.
- Flagship Platform: a developer running several projects who wants marketing, sales, and content in one system.
To see a platform-level build, the Bhatia Builders 3D real estate website case study walks through a real-time 3D tower, an admin CMS, and an eight-stage lead pipeline.
What's included in the price of a 3D website?
A Merse price covers the full build, from the first call to a live, tracked site:
- Discovery and scoping: a call to understand the project, the buyers, and the sales process, then a written fixed-price scope.
- Design: page layouts and the visual direction of each 3D scene.
- 3D scene production: models, lighting, materials, and camera movement for every scene.
- Performance engineering: compressed assets, tested on mid-range phones, so the page loads before the 3D does.
- The lead system: enquiry forms, routing to WhatsApp or your CRM, and dashboards, depending on the tier.
- Content management: a CMS so your team can update projects, prices, and floor plans.
- SEO and tracking setup: titles, descriptions, social sharing, and analytics that trace every enquiry to its source.
What isn't included is listed under hidden costs below.
What drives the cost of a 3D website?
Six factors explain most of the gap between a ₹2.5 lakh quote and a ₹30 lakh one.
1. How many 3D scenes you need
A scene is one composed 3D moment: the tower rising on the homepage, an explorable floor, the view from the 20th storey. Each scene needs its own modeling, lighting, camera work, and performance testing. One well-made scene costs far less than four, and in our experience it often does more for a buyer than several average ones.
2. Whether 3D models already exist
If your architect or archviz studio already has 3D models, we can usually optimize them for the web. If nothing exists, the models have to be built, and that work is scoped separately. Ask your architect what files they have before you ask anyone for a quote.
3. How much the visitor can do
Watching 3D and controlling it are different builds.
- Watch: the camera moves as the visitor scrolls. Least complex.
- Explore: the visitor rotates the building, picks a floor, or moves through a space.
- Configure: the visitor changes finishes, views, or unit types and sees the result live. Most complex.
Each step up adds interaction design, testing, and edge cases.
4. Performance on the phones your buyers carry
This is the cost most quotes hide. A scene that runs smoothly on a designer's laptop can stutter on a mid-range Android phone, and a stuttering scene makes a premium project look cheap.
Fast mobile 3D is engineering work: compressing models, capping screen resolution, loading the 3D only after the page is readable, and building a static fallback for low-powered devices. On the Bhatia Builders site, the full lit tower loads at about 0.7 MB, after the page has already appeared. We explain what real-time 3D actually costs on a marketing site in more detail.
5. The lead system underneath
A 3D website that impresses buyers but loses their enquiries has failed. The lead system covers form capture that doesn't drop or duplicate enquiries, routing to WhatsApp or your CRM, analytics that show which campaign produced each lead, and a dashboard your sales team actually opens. It's often the difference between a lower quote and a higher one, and it's the part that pays for the website.
6. How your team manages content
Can your team add a project, update pricing, or swap floor plans without calling a developer? A custom CMS costs more upfront and saves time and agency fees every month after launch.
3D website vs. normal website vs. virtual tour: how the costs compare
As a guide, real-time 3D adds roughly 30–60% to the cost of a comparable premium website. The extra pays for scene creation, interaction design, and mobile performance work.
Not everything sold as a "3D website" is the same product. Check which one you're being quoted for.
| What's being sold | What it actually is | Buyer can interact? | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Embedded 360° or virtual tour | A third-party tour placed inside a normal website | Partly | Slow on mobile, recurring platform fees, limited branding |
| Pre-rendered video | A walkthrough film that plays the same way for everyone | No | Large files can slow the page |
| Template with a 3D model | A standard website with a rotating model dropped in | Partly | Rarely tested on mid-range phones; can hurt page speed |
| Custom real-time 3D | A scene built for your project and rendered live in the browser | Yes | Costs more; quality depends on performance engineering |
None of these is wrong. A virtual tour can be the right answer for a resale listing. The point is to compare like with like.
Hidden costs most 3D website quotes leave out
A low quote often looks low because something was left out. Check every quote for these:
- 3D modeling: if no models exist, building them is extra work. Ask whether the quote assumes models you don't have.
- Hosting and upkeep: 3D sites need managed hosting, backups, and monitoring every month.
- Third-party licenses: virtual-tour platforms, CRM seats, and WhatsApp messaging platforms usually charge their own fees.
- Content changes after launch: new projects, price updates, and floor plan swaps are billed differently by every studio.
- Ad spend: the website doesn't bring traffic on its own, and ad budgets always sit outside studio fees.
- GST: some quotes include it and some don't. All Merse prices exclude 18% GST.
How to reduce the cost of a 3D website without hurting results
- Start with one scene. Put the budget into a single strong moment tied to a clean enquiry flow. Add scenes once you see how buyers use it.
- Reuse your architect's models. Ask for the 3D files before you request quotes. Optimizing existing models costs less than building new ones.
- Deliver assets early. Late models, renders, and floor plans stretch timelines. Having them ready shortens the project.
- Choose "watch" before "configure." Scroll-driven 3D delivers most of the impact at a lower cost than a full configurator.
- Keep the lead system. It turns visitors into enquiries, so it's the wrong place to save money.
What does a 3D website cost after launch?
The build is a one-time cost. Running it is ongoing. At Merse, post-launch support is a monthly plan, matched to the build.
| Plan | For | What it covers | Price per month (excl. GST) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential Care | Launch Microsites | Managed hosting, daily backups including lead data, uptime monitoring, security patches, a small monthly content allowance | ₹12–16K |
| Care | Signature and Flagship builds | Managed hosting, uptime monitoring, backups, a monthly content allowance | ₹20–30K |
| Growth | Any build | Everything in Care, plus new campaign pages, conversion work, SEO and AEO, and performance reporting | ₹60K–1 lakh |
Is a 3D website worth the cost for a real estate project?
A 3D website is worth it when it lowers your cost per lead enough to cover its price. Judge it against your marketing budget, not your website budget.
Here's an illustration with round, hypothetical numbers, not a promise of results. A developer spends ₹5 lakh a month on ads and gets 250 enquiries, a cost per lead of ₹2,000. If a better website turns 20% more of that traffic into enquiries, the same ₹5 lakh produces 300 enquiries. Cost per lead drops to about ₹1,667, and the developer gains 600 extra enquiries a year without spending more on ads.
Whether your site can produce that lift depends on your traffic, your project, and your sales follow-up. But the website is part of the cost of every lead you buy.
When a 3D website is usually worth considering
- You're selling an under-construction or pre-launch project, where buyers can't visit the finished building
- The ticket size is high enough that each extra qualified enquiry is worth a lot
- You're already spending on ads and want more from the same traffic
When it usually isn't worth it
- You have little or no traffic to send to the site yet
- The project is small or sells on price alone
- You need to launch in two weeks and no 3D assets exist
How to get an accurate 3D website quote
A studio can only quote accurately when it knows the scope. Have these ready before you ask anyone for a price:
- The project name, location, and type (residential, commercial, or mixed use)
- Its stage and target launch date
- The number of towers, unit types, and amenities you want to show
- What already exists: 3D models, renders, floor plans, brand guidelines
- Where enquiries should go: a CRM, WhatsApp, or a sales inbox
- Your monthly ad spend, if you're running ads
- A budget range, even a rough one
Questions to ask any studio before you sign
- Can you show me a live 3D site you built, and can I open it on my own phone?
- How large is the 3D scene in megabytes, and does the page load before the 3D does?
- What happens on an older or low-powered phone?
- Can Google read the page content, or is it hidden inside the 3D?
- Where do enquiries go, and how will I know which campaign produced each one?
- Who owns what after launch, and what does it cost to add a new project later?
If a studio can't answer these clearly, the lower quote may cost you more. See how we answer them on our 3D website development services page.
How payment and timelines work at Merse
Every project is quoted as a fixed scope with a fixed price, in writing, after a discovery call. Payment runs in three stages: 50% to start, 30% when the key 3D scene is approved or a set number of weeks after your assets are delivered (as agreed in the contract), whichever comes first, and 20% at launch. If models, renders, or floor plans arrive late, the timeline pauses rather than rushing the build.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a 3D website cost in India?
At Merse Studio, a custom 3D website in India costs between ₹2.5 lakh and ₹30 lakh, excluding 18% GST. A single-scene 3D microsite costs ₹2.5–4 lakh, a full immersive website costs ₹7.5–12 lakh, and a multi-scene platform with dashboards and lead routing costs ₹15–30 lakh.
Is a 3D website more expensive than a normal website?
Yes. As a guide, real-time 3D adds roughly 30–60% to a comparable premium website build. The increase comes from scene creation, interaction design, and the engineering needed to keep 3D fast on phones.
What is the cheapest way to get a 3D website?
The lowest-cost route is usually a single-scene microsite built from 3D models your architect already has. At Merse, that is the Launch Microsite at ₹2.5–4 lakh plus GST. Embedded virtual tours can cost less upfront but often carry recurring platform fees and offer limited control.
Can you use the 3D models my architect already has?
Often, yes. Architectural models usually need to be simplified and compressed for the web, but starting from existing files is faster and cheaper than modeling from scratch.
Will a 3D website slow down my site or hurt my Google rankings?
It can, if it is built badly. A well-built 3D site loads its readable content first and adds the 3D afterward, so Google and AI assistants can read the page.
How long does it take to build a 3D website?
Once your 3D assets and content are delivered, a single-scene microsite takes about 3–4 weeks and a full immersive website takes about 6–8 weeks. Larger platforms are scoped per project. Waiting on assets is usually the longest part of a project, so the clock starts when they arrive.
Is there a monthly cost after a 3D website launches?
Yes. Hosting and upkeep run as a monthly plan. At Merse, Essential Care costs ₹12–16K per month for Launch Microsites, and Care costs ₹20–30K per month for Signature and Flagship builds, both excluding GST.
Can I start with a microsite and add more 3D later?
Yes. You can launch with one scene and add scenes or pages later. Each addition is scoped and priced separately.
Does the price include hosting and ad spend?
The build price covers design, development, 3D, and the lead system. Hosting is covered under a monthly plan. Ad spend and third-party software licenses are always separate.
