Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Merse collects when you use merse.in, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We collect the minimum needed to answer an enquiry and to understand how the site is used.
Who we are
merse.in is operated by Merseworks LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India, trading as Merse Studio: an independent design and engineering studio based in Mumbai. In this policy, "Merse", "we" and "us" mean Merseworks LLP. For anything in this policy you can reach us at studio@merse.in.
What we collect
We collect two kinds of information, and nothing else.
- Information you give us. When you submit the project enquiry form we receive your email address, your mobile number, your project description, and, only if you choose to fill it in, an indicative budget. If you subscribe to new blog posts by email, we receive your email address and the page you subscribed from. There is no account, no password, and no payment information anywhere on this site.
- Information collected automatically. Google Analytics 4 records standard usage data: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Where a Google Ads conversion tag is active, a successful enquiry is also counted as a conversion. Both Google products use cookies to do this. We also run our own first-party monitoring, which records page views, load performance and JavaScript errors against a random per-tab session id; it sets no cookies and is not linked to your enquiry.
Blog by email
If you ask for new blog posts by email, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, and the time you did it. Our server also keeps a short security log of the request, including its IP address, to detect abuse; it is not used for anything else. Entering your address adds you to the list straight away; we do not send a confirmation step. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Emails are delivered by Resend, our email processor. Ask us at studio@merse.in and we will delete your address from the list entirely.
What we do not collect
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not buy contact data or run third-party advertising trackers beyond the Google products named above. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from analytics data.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, by email or on the mobile number you gave us, and scope the work you asked about. We do not use your number for marketing messages.
- To keep a record of enquiries so a conversation is not lost between messages.
- To understand which pages are useful and where the site is failing people, in aggregate.
- To measure whether paid campaigns are producing genuine enquiries.
Where it goes
Enquiries submitted through the site are transmitted over HTTPS to our own operations system and stored in a managed database. Access is limited to the people at Merse who need it to reply to you. The website itself is hosted on Vercel and served through Cloudflare; analytics data is processed by Google. Both may process data outside India.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as there is an active or plausibly reviving conversation, and for our own business records afterwards. If you ask us to delete your enquiry, we will delete it. Analytics data follows Google Analytics 4 retention settings.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it, and we will. Email studio@merse.in.
- Block analytics at the browser level (most browsers and extensions can do this); the site works normally without it.
Children
This site is a business-to-business studio site. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after that date means the updated policy applies.
